Galilee

The Galilee is the lush, mountainous northern region of Israel, home to the Sea of Galilee, the mystical city of Safed (Tzfat), and numerous important biblical and historical sites. After the destruction of the Temple, the Galilee became the center of Jewish scholarship where the Mishnah and Jerusalem Talmud were compiled. Today it is known for its natural beauty, wineries, and diverse communities.
