Rav Shimon Shkop

One of the great Talmudic methodologists of the 20th century (1860-1940). He studied in Mir and then in Volozhin under the Netziv and Rav Chaim Soloveitchik. He served as Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Shaarei Torah in Grodno for over two decades. His masterwork, Sha'arei Yosher, is among the most widely studied works of Talmudic analysis in yeshivos worldwide. He also authored Chiddushei Rav Shimon Yehuda HaKohen on numerous tractates.
