The Month of Sivan
May–June
About Sivan
Sivan is the month in which the Torah was given at Mount Sinai. Shavuot, the Festival of Weeks, falls on 6 Sivan and celebrates both the giving of the Torah and the first fruits harvest. The Torah was given to the entire nation — men, women, and children — making Sivan a month of unity and revelation. Tradition teaches that the entire world fell silent at the moment of revelation, and even the birds did not sing.
Mazal of Sivan: Gemini (Teomim)
The Twins (Teomim) represent the dual nature of Torah — written and oral — given at Sinai during this month. In Kabbalistic thought, Sivan's mazal reflects the power of communication and the union of opposites. Those born under Teomim are intellectually gifted, versatile, and drawn to deep learning.
Born in Sivan
Sivan is the month of Torah, wisdom, and unity. Those born in Sivan are said to be intellectually gifted, communicative, and drawn to learning.
